Working for the Weekend

After an intense working week, some of you may be living for this very day. Squeezing out your last efforts to get to Friday as the anticipation of free time excites you. Before you know it, the end of the day is near, and you are slumbering into the same deceptive habits—Take-away, Netflix, alcohol, procrastination, boredom. Overindulging, justifying, because, in your mind, you tell yourself, you earned it, and you deserve it. The hours wasted and time escapes you, and before you know it, you lost a whole weekend, still unsatisfied. In balance and moderation arrives much enjoyment, otherwise significantly compromised, becoming a distortion of reality, stealing your most tremendous potential.

Working for the weekend did not leave you feeling very accessible. You are observing others from a distance, through your screen, wondering how they got so lucky. They seem to be doing exciting things, and if they are just chilling, they do it without condemnation.

If you can relate to this life of delusion, you are not alone—the majority rules in favor of the same old. Everyone else is doing it, so big deal.

It is a big deal, as the things you may consider inconsequential will negatively impact your overall enjoyment of living your best life.

So next time you are going about your usual routine, consider the long-term implications. Ask yourself, is what I am doing right now line up with living a life of excellence?

To be honest with yourself is of utmost importance. Therefore, allowing the opportunity to move you in the direction of your dreams.

Anything that takes you away from the life you desire is a hindrance to be addressed. For example: Wanting to deliver the best response to meet needs, being present in your work, home, and play, wanting more money to meet commitments, or save for a holiday all require daily discipline. Every decision you make is either working for you or against you.

Unless you implement a strategy that works and you follow it consistently, you will not be accessible.

Rest from your stresses, you're not missing out, and in your rest, you will discover.

When Monday comes around, you want to say, 'Yes!' with enthusiasm as you know why you are doing what you do, and it is good. Ultimately making downtime a much more fulfilling time.

Remember, Relax, Dream Big!
