Take It Up A Step

Happy hour isn't a boozy gathering with friends; happy hour is every time you elevate gratitude as a reset and maybe mocktails with a side of the intellectual, controversial conversation, the type that inspires, where meaningful connection transpires.

Okay, maybe that's just my vibe. Besides, I have to say; this picture is pretty cool with watermelon, chili, and limes. It ticks all the boxes, visually appealing, telling a story that can be fun and exhilarating or is a trigger of disturbing accusation. How you see and think is one part choice and one part unconsciousness due to how you absorb.

Do you pay much attention to your surroundings? What do you notice, and for you, what stands out? Do sounds or colors, or words inspire you? Do you respond in kind, or do you stand back to observe? How do you express yourself to those you are the first to meet, and do you remember names or faces or exciting places? I am just asking. Everyone is so unique.

How was your day? What was your biggest challenge, and why? Something takes you by surprise, and did you learn something new? You were smiling more than usual; who or what did that? An instantaneous response from within that is displaying upon your face. Resounding yes or did you say no, an apology, remorse, maybe a day of regret; forgive, choosing to forget, made amendments, helped a stranger, or changed your mind?

Did you do anything spontaneous or follow through with detailed plans? I know ALL these questions; what does it mean? Maybe something, or nothing, that is between you and your mental wellbeing.

Have you ever caught yourself whistling while you work, humming, doing something ordinary? What's that all about, what do you think?

Okay, I'll stop with all these questions, these thought-provoking intrusions on your privacy. Yet, it would help if you admitted, sometimes it's necessary to alter the usual trajectory of inexplicable internal dialogue for some substance beyond one's voice.

If you are reading this, your brain is very functional and making choices, gathering, deciding.

Exchange of information, personal liaison, questions, and answers, understanding, every interaction, no matter how small, can pack a punch and return a bunch of new.

At times you get it right, and other times so very wrong. The key is to acknowledge and to keep moving on. Take it up a step, ask, and you will receive is not the bible verse for your massive wish list of material things. It is an opportunity for intimate connection and answers to your most persistent question.

Who do you say that I am?
