Learning to identify yourself, apart from your work, parenting, sports achievements, etc., and get to the core of you is a light bulb moment.
We grow up within a circle of influence, some good, some not so good, and others wrong. The result becomes a society mixed with clones desperately trying to fit in or try too hard to stand out., straining for approval The cry out is, "I do not know who I am anymore." A statement often heard. God has designed our brains with the ability to change, and we were designed to have a spiritual connection; in doing so, believers are transformed by the renewing of the mind. Yet so many zealously practice comparison like an artform.
The biggest lie we learn as young people is to forsake our own identity and take on the herd mentality. The climax is a compromised version of self that continues well into adulthood. Searching to find their position, lock themselves in, believing they have arrived at their destination only to experience loneliness. If you are a thinker, a doer, and question everything, you may make others feel uneasy, insecure even, as to be uncomfortable is like air to the creative and innovative.
Deep inside you is a yearning, a desire for more. You are venturing into a new commitment with enthusiasm, only to fail before you barely get started. You are exhausting yourself with effort, leaving to balance with fatigue. People-pleasing is rooted in fear and is focused on earning love, so please be reminded, genuine love casts out fear.
Allowing yourself to dream without reservation is monumental. Taking away comparison to anyone else and knowing that you are a unique individual will give clarity and peace of mind.
Observation of those around you may resonate with your moral compass, inspiring you to discover your greatness. Live honestly and live with integrity; as you begin to know yourself, you can choose your path authentically. It is not possible to be on different approaches and live an extraordinary life.
Comprised by others' agendas and fear of rejection only exasperate. You have nothing to lose when choosing what's right, without bias and pious platitudes, provoking only divinely appointed inspiration. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him, nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." - John 1:1-5
When you gravitate to your joy and happiness, you will see with fresh eyes, listen to your optimal voice, and act with purpose.
Letting go of what is and what was, acknowledging the still small voice inside you, surrender your weakness and reach for your greatness. "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God, and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body." - 2 Corinthians 4:7-10
As a child, you stood on your tiptoes to see more and soon found you could see a lot more when you climbed higher; why did you stop?
Stand up and be yourself!
Remember, Relax, Dream Big!
