Every choice you make today and every day ultimately must have a purpose to move you forward in the direction of your goals and dreams.
There is a wonder in our ability to be able to visualize our expectant end.
"Reflect upon your present blessings - of which every man has many - not on your misfortunes, of which all men have some." - Charles Dickens.
Reflecting on your present blessings brings you to now, taking into thoughtful consideration all that inspires gratitude and thankfulness. Doing so encourages the ability to be more relaxed when making decisions and optimizes visualization.
Your choice to be grateful in every circumstance will change the way you think. As obstacles become opportunities, like standing in a long queue, you can develop patience. Unexpected traffic delays can become an advantage, as you learn to use the time wisely. Practice deep breathing, or listen to something that will benefit you in being a better version of yourself.
Learning self-control is a behavior that is available to activate when you know only to keep thoughts that serve you and dispose of those that would enslave you.
Creating a daily habit of gratitude will encourage your optimal thinking. First thing in the morning, in the middle of the day, the last thing at night, any time is the best time to be grateful and reflect on all of your blessings.
The daily practice strengthens, building your mental mind muscle, and willingly participating in your thoughts is a golden ticket.
I'm sure you have already recognized how not being thankful or grateful infects your life. Like a drop of poison in a glass of water, it is poisoning the lot. Likewise, the subtle creeping of passivity disrupts. Unfocused attention on all that is good in life will eventually destroy your ability to make the right choices. The poison that infiltrates human reasoning can be eliminated by constant daily intake of the correct teaching, reading, listening as filling up becomes overflow, and overflow increases fresh perspective to fill up spaces. Acting in a way that is becoming of the person you represent. Reflect.
Remember, Relax, Dream Big!
